PML-N divided over proposal of resigning from assemblies

Rifts have emerged in the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) ranks over the issue of collective resignations from assemblies as part of anti-government drive. Well placed sources said that, PML-N leadership seemed divided on the issue of resignations from the assemblies as some important party leaders have rejected the said proposal saying that the Parliament provided the best forum to expose the wrong doings of the PPP led government. Senior party leaders including Javed Hashmi, Ghaus Ali Shah and Saad Rafiq are enthusiast about quitting the assemblies and going back to public. On the other hand opposition leader in National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Senator Pervaiz Rasheed are opposing resignations from the assemblies. Meanwhile, the PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif has floated the proposal of 'Charter of Pakistan' for the democratic stability in the country. It has been learnt that PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif, in meeting with the senior party members has once again proposed to enter into a new social contract i.e. 'Charter of Pakistan', with the democratic forces as well as other stakeholders including the armed forces on vital national issues including extermination of corruption and consistency of democracy.
