S Korea to send additional relief supplies to flood-hit Pakistan

South Korea has decided to provide flood-hit Pakistan with additional emergency humanitarian assistance worth 500,000 U.S. dollars, doubling the total amount of support to one million U.S. dollars, the foreign ministry in Seoul said Wednesday. The flood has claimed 1,600 lives and affected 20 million people in the region, the ministry said in a press release. The ministry will announce the decision in a UN meeting slated to be held on Aug. 19 in New York City, it said.
