Two soldiers dead in Dera mine blast

QUETTA - Three people including two personnel of Frontier Corps were killed and another got injured in two different incidents of landmine explosion and armed attack in Dera Bugti and Quetta on Friday. According to Frontier Corps officials, a vehicle of mine sweepers of Frontier Corps was clearing the route for forces' patrolling in Tuba Noukhani area of Dera Bugti district when it hit a landmine laid by unknown miscreants. As a result, two security personnel were killed while another received serious injuries. The vehicle of mine sweepers destroyed completely. The names of deceased were known as Lance Naik Abdul Rehman and soldier Muhammad Hashim while injured was identified as Ahsan Ali. The injured was taken to the local hospital. Police registered a case against unknown miscreants and started investigation. However, no arrest so far was made. The Baloch Republican Army claimed the responsibility for the landmine explosion and killing two soldiers. In another incident, a man was gunned down by unknown assailants on Sariab Road in Quetta. According to police, unknown armed attackers opened fire on Agha Muhammad Ismail with pistol and escaped from the scene. As a result, he received serious injuries and died. The cause of killing is stated to be old enmity.
