Two Punjabi labourers shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA - Two Punjabi labourers were killed and three others sustained when unidentified gunmen opened fire at their residential camp, they set up, near site of a development project. Levies Forces officials said some labourers, working on Barkhan-Pir Shah Muhammad Road project set up a makeshift camp in Lathibar. Late Sunday, unidentified armed men attacked the camp, killing two workers on the spot. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Bux and Sajid while three others Hameed, Jan Khan and Rabnawaz sustained injuries. The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital by the Levies Forces. According to sources in Levies Forces, all the deceased and injured hailed from Punjab. Some sources claimed that the incident was part of the policy by some miscreants to force the labourers and people of other provinces to leave Balochistan. Meanwhile, citizens and local political leaders have strongly condemned the incident, terming it plot to create rift between Punjab and Balochistan. Separately, two security men were killed in a blast in Chamalang area of the province when one of them stepped on a landmine laid by militants. The deceased, identified as Bilawal and Baira, were stated to be the resident of the Kohlu district.
