QUETTA - At least 16 people including children and women were killed in a road accident on Quetta-Chaman Highway in Pishin district on Thursday. Levies officials said a vehicle carrying passengers was heading towards Chaman when it collided with another vehicle coming from opposite direction at Saranan area of Pishin near a petrol pump. As a result, 16 people including two children and three women were killed and three others sustained injuries in the incident. Levies personnel rushed to the site and moved the deceased and the injured to a local hospital in Pishin. Most of the deceased persons succumbed to injuries on the spot while some breathed their last in the hospital, Levies sources said, adding the incident took place owing to over-speeding. Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives and directed the authority concerned to provide proper treatment to the injured. The local administration has started investigation into the incident.
