Killing of woman by army vehicle triggers protests in IHK

In occupied Kashmir, a 65-year old woman was killed when a vehicle of Indian army deliberately hit her on Baramulla-Kupwara highway. According to the Kashmir Media Service, the woman, Ateeqa Begum was hit by an Army vehicle at Palpora on the highway. She was critically injured and shifted to Soura hospital in Srinagar where she succumbed. The army convoy had been heading for Srinagar from Kupwara when the woman was hit and injured. As news about the death of the woman spread, hundreds of people including women and children took to the streets at Langate in Kupwara, her native area. Raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, the protesters blocked the highway suspending traffic for hours. They demanded action against driver of the vehicle.
