No agreement with anyone on formation of Punjab govt: Ch Shujaat

PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain Thursday brushed aside the impression of his party's alliance with PPP for joining the governments in the center and Punjab, saying that the media reports in this regard were "baseless". Talking to the journalists here at his residence, Shujaat said there was no truth in such media reports and he had made no agreement with any political party. "During the talks with the PML-N leaders, I would also urge them not to encourage the PML-Q forward bloc and return them to the party fold as a Confidence Building Measure (CBM) between both the parties," he said. Flanked by other party leaders Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed, President PML-Q Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Aijaz-ul-Haq and Senator Ghaffar Qureshi, Shujaat said his party supported Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani due to his impartiality. "The people of Punjab gave us a mandate in February polls and we stood at third position in the province. There is no other way but to implement Shujaat Formula in Punjab to form a stable government," he said.
