MINGORA - The Taliban militants, headed by Maulana Fazalullah, have released eight of the 13 kidnapped security forces personnel, reliable sources said here on Thursday. The militants had kidnapped the 13 personnel of the security forces on July 13, 2008 during an attack on Police Station, Dewlai. Taliban spokesman has informed that the remaining five security personnel would also be released within a few days. The released personnel are Zorab Gul, Abdullah, Qasim Jan, Karim, Sher Alam, Said Qayum, Deyar Khan and Ghani Gul. Taliban claimed that they have freed the kidnapped personnel in honour of Ramazan. -Ul-Mubarak, but the government circles believe that Taliban militants have come under tremendous pressure because of the ongoing military operation and the uprising against them by the local Jirgas from Kanju and Koza Bandai towns. It is pertinent to mention here that people from Damghar, of Matta Tehsil, have already organized a traditional Lashkar against the militants.
