Two killed in explosive device blast

PESHAWAR At least two persons were killed and two others injured when a powerful remote-controlled explosive device went off in Gur Mandi area of Hashtnagri Friday. Sources said that the bomb was remote-controlled and was planted in the main dealing centre of Gur Bazar. As a result, two persons were killed and two others got injured, they said. Though the local police personnel told TheNation that the blast was not of any explosive device as it was the cylinder blast, yet the Bomb Disposal Squad surprisingly was not allowed to comment on the incident. Soon after the blast, rescuers rushed to the site and joined the rescue activities. The dead and injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital. The killed were identified as Mohammad Ali, son of Misbahullah, resident of Shabqadar, and Husnul Maab, son of Taos Khan from Mattni, while the injured were identified as Faraman Ali and Jan, resident of Swat. The local police and personnel of the security agencies rushed also rushed to site, cordoned off the area and collected evidence.
