KURRAM AGENCY/SOUTH WAZIRISTAN Security forces on Tuesday killed 11 militants and wounded six others during operation against extremists in Kurram Agency while a solider also embraced martyrdom. Five militants were also killed and three injured in a roadside bomb blast in South Waziristan Agency. Security forces are carrying out massive operation against militants in Central Kurram Agency. The operation was launched two weeks ago. On Tuesday, during clashes between security forces and militants at Ormangai area, at least eleven militants were killed and six others sustained injuries. Besides that, a solider also embraced martyrdom while four others including an officer sustained wounds, the injured were rushed to the hospital. After the clash, forces accelerated the operation in the area. Sources said security forces have managed to take control of several areas in the Kurram Agency. For the last four years, main Peshawar-Parachinar Highway has been closed down for all sort of traffic due to the poor law and order situation in the agency. Besides that, Kurram Agency is also well-known for sectarian violence erupting time and again. Hundreds of people have so far been killed and many more injured in such incidents of sectarian violence. Separately, at least five militants were killed and three others sustained injuries in a bomb blast planted at a roadside in South Waziristan Agency on Tuesday. Sources said a vehicle, carrying militants, was on its way to somewhere when it hit a roadside planted bomb at Shakai area situated some 25 kilometres away from Wana, headquarters of South Waziristan Agency. Resultantly, five militants including Ayaz Khan, who is stated to be the son of a militant commander, Tehsil Khan, were killed in the blast while three others also sustained wounds in the incident.
