ISLAMABAD (Online) US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke Saturday expressed his reservations over the term of 'Punjabi Taliban, saying that there should be no discrimination among the terrorists. Talking to PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif, Holbrooke assured him of his countrys cooperation for strengthening democracy and institutions in Pakistan. During the meeting held at the Punjab House, they discussed Pak-US bilateral relations, war on terror, countrys political scenario and situation prevailing in Afghanistan. According to sources, the US envoy said it was a good omen that the political parties and the Pakistani nation were united for eliminating terrorism. Nawaz expressed his reservations over the US strategy to eliminate terrorism while stressing the need to keep in view basic strategic interests of Pakistan. He also called for stopping the drone attacks and respecting Pakistans solidarity and sovereignty. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif while clarifying his statement said the provincial government was standing side by side with the federal govt to root out terrorism but the goal could not be achieved through using the force only, adding that the root causes of terrorism should also be addressed.
