US did not ask India to pull back troops from Pak border: Robert Wood

The US has denied it asked or advised India to pull back its troops from the border with Pakistan recently. "I'm not aware that there have been any conversations recently about that," State Department spokesman Robert Wood told reporters on Thursday. Asked if this issue was brought up at meetings with Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon during his recent visit, he said: "I was in the meeting. I don't recall that issue being raised." Asked if there had been any such request from the Pakistani side, Wood said: "Not that I'm aware of."
