Abducted girl gang-raped in Karachi

KARACHI Three culprits kidnapped two girls from the citys posh area late Sunday night and freed them after their alleged gang-rape in mysterious condition Darakhshan area Monday morning, police said. According to the details, the victims - Sonia and Kiran Abdullah - were on their way back to their home late Sunday night in their car (AMQ-788) after attending a party at a house located in Khayban-e-Qasim, Phase 8. Meanwhile, her car collided with another car. Police sources said that the inmates of the other car, who were three in number, kidnapped both the girls and took them to an unknown place. The kidnappers threw the victims at a road in Khayban-e-Qasim Monday morning and managed to escape. Both the girls were rushed to the area police which managed their medical examination at the Civil Hospital Karachi. According to the hospital report prepared by Dr. Samia, MLO Civil Hospital, Kiran had been gang-raped, while her friend Sonia declined to get her medical check-up. The police sources said that Kiran is resident of Phase 2, DHA, where she resides with her boyfriend Mazahir. The victims were reluctant to register the case while her boyfriend lodged the FIR 585/10 against the unknown kidnappers. Relevant police officials did not attend phone calls made by this scribe while police sources confirmed that both the girls had repeatedly changed their statements and did not disclose the names of the culprits and place where they were subjected to rape and continued changing their statements. President Asif Ali Zardari has taken of the incident and directed the Sindh government to arrest the culprits.
