At least 3 killed, 20 injured in Quetta blast

At least three persons have been killed and twenty others injured due to a remote control bomb blast at Kowari road here on Sunday. A private TV channel while quoting police officials told that explosive material was planted at a bicycle along the roadside. Through this activity miscreants wanted to target the van of District Police Officer (DPO) Khuzdar Nazir Kurd. During this attempt DPO was not travelling in the van and his gunman and driver injured due to the blast. Injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta. In this blast several vehicles, shops and houses were damaged. Police also arrested suspect near the blast site and shifted him for interrogation. In this regard, DIG Hamid Shakeel told that they have certain threats and police was told to minimize travelling. At least three people were killed and 20 others injured in a blast on Kuwari Road of Quetta. The bomb was rigged to a bicycle. Police put security cordon around the blast site and then the relief activities got started. The relief teams arrived on the spot. The blast was so powerful that it harmed nearby buildings, shops and vehicles. The Bomb Disposal Squad is scrutinizing the blast site. The BDS officials said the blast was remote-controlled and at least 5 to 6-kg explosives were used in the blast. According to police sources, a police vehicle was targeted in the blast; the vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.
