Four people, including former MPA Aalam Zaib Umar Zai, were shot dead in limits of City Police Station here in Charsadda, a private TV reported Thursday. Police said unknown armed men opened fire on vehicle of Umar zai, the provincial leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao), when he was going somewhere, leaving him and his four guards dead on the spot. Police thronged to the crime scene and shifted the dead bodies to local hospital for medico-legal activities. Severe tense prevailed in the area following the incident.
