LAHORE - The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel opened unprovoked fire with heavy weapons at Sialkot working boundary. According to a Rangers spokesman, the Indian BSF personnel started firing in Bajwat sector late Thursday night, which, continued for one hour. However after retaliatory fire from Pakistan Rangers, they stopped firing. Although the firing created panic and harassment among the locals, no loss of life was reported. A Wing commander level meeting was called and protest on the incident has been lodged with the BSF. Online adds: Indian media claimed on Friday that Indias border guards shot dead a suspected intruder trying to sneak into the Indian territory. The BSF troopers noticed suspicious movement in Pargwal sector along the working boundary, 40km northwest of Jammu, at 4:15 am. On being challenged, the suspected intruders fired at the BSF personnel manning the Rapura post in the area, IANS reported. Pakistani Rangers manning the border also opened fire. The exchange of fire lasted for about half an hour. One suspected intruder was killed, the Indian news agency claimed.
