A Pakistani woman prisoner lodged in Amritsar Jail in a narcotics case died in the prison following illness, reports Indian media. Prison sources said the woman, Rashida Begum, fell unconscious while being taken for a court hearing. She was rushed to a government hospital but died on the way. She was arrested by customs officials at the Attari railway station in 2006 along with two other women from Pakistan and was charged under the Narcotics Act.
