SRINAGAR - Milat Ahmed Shah, an 8-year old boy, who was directly shot by the occupying Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) a couple of days ago, succumbed to injuries on Thursday. The death of Shah triggered protests in his hometown and adjoining areas. Protests were also held at Lar in Ganderbal. The state authority continues to maintain militarised curfew round the clock. However, Kashmiris defied curfew orders in Rainawari area of Srinagar and took to streets. India is using extremely inhuman tactics to suppress the indigenous freedom movement of Kashmiris. AFP adds: Indian soldiers shot dead two freedom-fighters during a gunbattle on Thursday in a residential area of Srinagar, the main city in Indian-occupied Kashmir, which has been under regular curfews for months. Indian troops and counter-insurgency police surrounded a house where the freedom fighters were holed up early in the morning in the suburbs of the city. We have killed two fighters who were hiding in two houses, Srinagar police chief Ashiq Hussain Bukhari told reporters. The fighting has stopped but the search operation is still on in the area as we suspect the presence of third fighter. At least 100 civilians trapped in the residential district were evacuated to safety during several hours of gunfire. Two policemen and a woman sustained injuries.
