QUETTA Some two people were killed and nine others sustained serious wounds after armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire on a bus carrying pilgrims at Aktharabad area on the outskirts of Quetta on Wednesday. Police said the bus carrying members of Shia community was heading towards Iran via Taftan and was passing from Sardar Karez area of Aktharabad when unknown assailants sprayed it with bullets. As a result, two people identified as Rahim Shah and Abdul Hussain died on the spot and nine others sustained serious wounds. The assailants escaped from the site after committing the crime. Police and personnel of Frontier Corps rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. The dead and injured were moved to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital where the condition of three injured was stated to be serious. A police official said it appeared to be a case of sectarian killing. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
