Compensation to dengue victims' heirs from today: Shahbaz

Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that financial aid for Dengue victims would commence from Sunday. Addressing an emergency meeting regarding Dengue fever in Lahore, he announced Rs.500,000 for kin of each of victims, succumbed from Dengue fever, in a very transparent procedure evolved for the purpose. He also informed that intensive care units (ICU) for Dengue victims would soon start functioning in Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi, and also stressed upon doctors to ensure a steady visit of consultants at their respective hospitals. The meeting briefed the CM, Punjab that 1265 doctors and nurses had been specially trained to deal with the Dengue, while the CM informed that visiting teams inspected 520 patients, yesterday, Saturday. He also informed that special teams had also been formed for inspection, fumigation of restaurants, hotels, marriage halls, and bakeries, which had inspected 863 sites. The CM also met various doctors, and pharmacists , manning health helpline for the deadly disease, and lauded their selfless zeal and services.
