ISLAMABAD " Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Tariq Majeed, called on President Asif Ali Zardari here on Tuesday. He apprised the President of his recent visit to China. Matters pertaining to the Armed Forces were also discussed in the meeting, a press release issued here said. Meanwhile, Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik called on President Asif Ali Zardari. He apprised the President of the developments taking in the region in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks. The UN Coordinator in China Khalid Malik also called on the President at the Presidency. Senior officials of the Foreign Ministry were also present at the meeting. Online adds: President Zardari on Tuesday said that even today Pakistan is ready to lend a helping hand in Mumbai terrorist attacks probe thus offer is still intact. President Zardari expressed these views while talking to Pakistan High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik at Aiwan-i-Sadr. Well-placed sources told Online that Shahid Malik gave a detailed briefing to President Zardari following terrorist attacks that hit Mumbai City, last month. The sources said that he briefed President Asif Ali Zardari in detail regarding Indian govt allegations on Pakistan and other matters. He told the President that India has not provided any substantial evidence regarding involvement in Mumbai attacks to Pakistan. He made it clear that govt of India and political leadership is trying to blame Pakistan for Mumbai bloodshed. The sources said that President Zardari has termed Indian allegations as not a good sign for both the countries. President Zardari said that Pakistan had offered all possible assistance to India following the Mumbai attacks but Indian attitude remains discouraging ,adding, today still our offer is intact. He stressed the need for joint efforts to combat terrorism ,adding, India must stop blaming Pakistan for Mumbai attacks. In the present circumstances, entire nation is united and ready to give a befitting response to India , Zardari added. He also made it clear that Pakistan desires to revive relations with India on equal grounds. Pakistan has no evil designs against any country including India, he added. President was of the view that Pakistan itself is a victim of terrorism urging all the parties must work together for the elimination of terrorism.
