Senator declines Hilal-e-Pakistan

QUETTA Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan President Senator Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani has decided not to receive Hilal-e-Pakistan, the top civilian award of the country, to register his protest against the injustices meted to Balochistan and its people. It is pertinent to recall that President Asif Ali Zardari had announced to confer Hilal-e-Pakistan on the members of the Constitutional Reforms Committee in recognition of their services and Lashkari Raisani was also one of them. While talking to newsmen on phone from Islamabad, Lashkari said he did not deserve Hilal-e-Pakistan because their struggle was not meant for any award. He said a lot of injustices had been committed to Balochistan and until and unless these were not redressed he would not accept any medal. Lashkari also vowed to continue his struggle for the rights of Baloch people.
