At least 6 people including Policemen were killed and 39 others sustained serious injuries, as an explosive-laden vehicle rammed into a Police station early Wednesday morning in Peshawar. According to the report, the entire building of a CID (Center of Investigation Department) Police station located on the University road of the city was leveled to ground after being hit by an explosive-laden vehicle at about 4:40 a.m. Wednesday morning. Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Bilour while talking to media men confirmed death 6 people in the blast. A Personnel of Pak Army and 5 were among dead, he said. He said 25 to 27 Policemen were on duty when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden Pickup into Police building. Rescue teams reached at the site soon after the blast and retrieved the dead and injured under the debris of collapsed building. The injured including a child were shifted to hospital where condition of some are said to be in critical. 17 critical injured including nine Policemen were shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex from Khyber teaching hospital. According to an eyewitness, the blast, which occurred in the heart of the city, was so huge that even people living at the outskirts of the city can hear the blast. Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operation Ijaz Khan told media men that 250 Kilogram explosive material was used in the blast. On the other hand, banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)has claimed the responsibility for a suicide attack at a Police station, saying it was to avenge Osama bin Laden's death. "We claim responsibility for the attack in Peshawar," TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told media men via telephone from an undisclosed location. "We will further step up these attacks to avenge Osama bin Laden's martyrdom," he said. Ehsan added: "These attacks will continue until the US drone strikes and ongoing Pak military operations are stopped in the tribal regions."
