As many as eight persons were killed including three police personnel and 21 others were injured in suicide attack near the house of Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa Information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain in Pabbi in the vicinities of Nowshera here on Monday. According to details a suicide bomber exploded himself in front of the house of KP information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain as a result Eight persons including three police personnel and two children were killed on the scene, while 21 others sustained injuries. An eyewitness stated that the suicide attacker approximately 18 to 19-years old exploded himself in front of Mian Iftikhar House, when police personnel deputed there tried to stop him from entering the residence. It is worth mentioning that numbers of people were gathered in the house of Mian Iftikhar at this time to condole the death of his son Mian Rashid Hussain, who died in a target killing incident on Saturday. After the suicide blast, police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and assisted the rescue teams to shift the victims of the suicide to hospital. Bomb-disposal squad said that approximately 8 to 10 Kg explosive was utilized in the suicide blast adding that the intensity of the blast was so severe that it smashed numbers of vehicles parked near the blast scene and demolished three shops beside the house of Mian Iftikhar Hussain. MS Pabbi Hospital Dr Akbar talking to media stated that 21 injured are being treated in the hospital and the hospital administration has referred seven critical injured to Lady-Reading Hospital Peshawar. CCPO Peshawar, Liaqat Ali talking to media said that the suicide attacker exploded himself on interception of police personnel who were deputed before the House of Information Minister, as a result an ASI and two police constable died on the scene. He also urged the people to remain in their houses, as there are reports regarding presence of another suicide attacker in the area adding that police are carrying search operation in the area. ANP leader Raza Rabbani talking to media also said that security arrangements were fully observed but it is too difficult to restrict the suicide attacker. Family of KP information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain remained safe, however a nephew of Iftikhar Hussain got partial injuries in the blast. Information minister was present in the degree college adjacent to his house with the people, who had arrived to condole death of his son at the time of blast. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani have condemned the suicide blast and said that the terrorists cannot demoralize the nation through coward acts of terrorism.
