Muslim League-Q backed candidate Mian Ikhlaque Ahmad Guddu, opposing Mian Nawaz Sharif in the Lahore National Assembly constituency NA-123 by-poll, has finally capitulated before the contest. Taking a dramatic turn here, Guddu standing with his both hands up announced that he would instead be running the election campaign of Mian Nawaz Sharif, quite in contrast to his earlier move of filing a petition challenging the approval of the nomination papers of Mian Nawaz Sharif from NA-123. Ikhlaque Ahmad Guddu told Geo News that his friends and relations advised him not to contest against Mian Nawaz Sharif and, therefore, he has withdrawn his objections petition from the Tribunal. He said that there was neither any pressure on him for taking back the petition nor was he joining the Muslim League-N. He said he decided supporting Nawaz for the restoration of judiciary and strengthening of institutions.
