PML-N Parliamentary Leader in the Senate Ishaq Dar has written a letter to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani asking him to convene a joint session of the Parliament for a frank discussion on the allegations levelled by US Defence Secretary and Admiral Mike Mullen against Pakistan's ISI. In a letter to the Prime Minister on Monday, Senator Ishaq Dar said the anti Pakistan joint briefing in Washington on 22nd September by the two top American Defence officials appears to have been aimed at stemming the nosedive in the morale of US soldiers in Afghanistan. He said both these officials share large responsibility for America's failure to achieve peace objectives in Afghanistan and to protect the lives of US soldiers in that country. He said it seems that Pakistan came as an easy scapegoat as no creditable evidence has been produced till date by the said persons relating to the allegations elucidated by them against Pakistan. Senator Ishaq Dar said under the circumstances it is time when solidarity of political parties and parliamentarians is directly needed. He said the through the debate in the Parliament the view points of the stakeholders in Pakistan would be ascertained against the allegations. He hoped for a prompt action by the Prime Minister.
