4 Turkish engineers abducted in Afghanistan

KHOST (Agencies) Four Turkish engineers and their Afghan driver were kidnapped Sunday in Afghanistans eastern province of Paktia. Deputy provincial governor Abdul Rahman Mangal said the men were travelling from a building site in the Dand Wa Patan district, which borders Pakistans tribal areas, to Gardez when they were abducted. Four Turkish engineers and their Afghan driver were kidnapped by unknown gunmen and have been taken away to an unknown location, Mangal said, adding that the men worked for a construction company which builds border posts. One Bangladeshi road worker was killed and seven others were taken captive earlier this month in northern Afghanistan. Five of them are still being held despite efforts by local police and elders to free them.
