Senate to meet on Aug 4

ISLAMABAD - Acting Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali has summoned the Upper House session on August 4 at 5:00pm. The Acting Chairman Senate, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 54 (3) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has summoned the Senate to meet in the Parliament House Islamabad. This will be the 45th session of the Senate of Pakistan. Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Kamal Ali Agha told TheNation Saturday that internal and external threats to Pakistan's security, especially provocative statements of Afghan President Hamid Karzai and terrorist activities in the country, would be discussed in the session. He said that price hike, energy crisis, wheat shortage and military operation in tribal areas would also come under discussion.
