PESHAWAR Militants attacked a security check-post in Sarband area, a suburb of the provincial metropolis, killing one FC personnel and injuring a police constable in the wee hours of Monday. As per details, dozens of terrorists, armed with heavy weapons, attacked and fired eight rockets at the police check-post in Achinai Cross. As a result, the check-post caught fire. The personnel of Police, FC retaliated that led to exchange of fire. Meanwhile, more policemen were sent to the site. In the exchange of fire that continued for about three hours, one FC personnel Jaan Hussain got martyrdom, while police constable Manzoor sustained critical injuries. The attackers latter managed to flee the scene. Meanwhile, the injured were taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex where the FC personnel succumbed to injuries. More security personnel have been deputed on the check-post to avoid any untoward incident and also launched a search operation in the area to net the attackers.
