Zamzama gas field closes for annual overhaul

Due to the closure of Zamzama gas field for annual overhauling, the gas supply to industrial units in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Bahawalpur will remain closed for the next three days. According to private TV channel, the overhauling work of Zamzama gas field will be completed before November 4. During this all period, gas supply for domestic consumers will not suffer, but many industrial areas of Punjab will not get gas supply for the next three days. The gas supply of many other industries of Punjab including Pak Arab Fertilizer Company, Pak American Fertilizer Company and Dawood Hercules has been also halted for the next nine days which has created fear that the supply of urea can suffer during the current wheat sowing campaign. The CNG Association of Pakistan has announced that as a protest against the two day gas load shedding, all CNG stations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be closed on November 1.
