Operation begins in Darra, 50 kg explosives recovered, Ceasefire in Kurram Agency

Rival factions have agreed on ceasefire in Kurram Agency on Saturday. According to sources of political administration, Toori and Bangash tribes, fighting against each other, have agreed on ceasefire and have signed an agreement in this regard. This may be recalled that the fighting among the tribes not only caused heavy losses to both sides but the supply of essential items including medicine is suspended due to which the people are suffering from great hardhips.   Security forces, by clamping curfew also here in the outskirts at Matni adjoining to Darra Adamkhel, have started operation. Security forces search operation is continuing in Darra Adamkhel for the past five days, while a major action of the security forces is expected today, which has prompted the authority to clamp curfew in other areas also including Peshawar outskirts Budh Ber and Matni adjoining to Adamkhel. Security forces have started search operation against the miscreants at Matni. Police sources said that curfew would remain clamped at Matni and Budh Ber from 6.00 A.M. in the morning to 6.00 P.M. in the evening. Security forces' search operation in different areas of Darra Adamkhel continued for the sixth day today. Sources said that three suspects were arrested, 50 kg explosives were recovered from a house and one vehicle in use of the extremists was seized during the last 24 hours of search operation. Security forces devastated the house of a person facilitating militants at Akhorwal area, but not loss of life took place. Security forces have swiftly started the repairs of the destroyed bridges on Indus Highway passing through Darra Adamkhel. Official sources said that the old Kotal Road would soon be opened before Eid for the restoration of traffic between Peshawar and Kohat. However, the decision relating to the opening of the Kohat Tunnel would be taken later on in view of the security measures.
