At least 18 killed, 40 injured in LPG container blast in Halanaka Bazaar

At least eighteen people have been killed and forty others injured in a LPG-Container blast in Halanaka Bazaar near Grid Station Hyderabad on Monday. RPO Hyderabad Fiyaz Leghari talking to media informed that blasts occurred in LPG Container and the intensity of the blast was so severe that it damaged ten shops in the vicinity of the blast place and approximately fourteen people died on the scene and forty others get injured who were shifted to Civil Hospital. DPO Hyderabad Javed Alam also said that a truck carrying Gas-Container was parked near Grid station in Halanaka bazaar that exploded with a severe bang adding that the blast couldn't be termed as terrorists attack. He also informed that blast occurred owing to explosion in truck carrying LPG Container that was carrying thirty thousand thinner gases and was parked beside the Grid station in Halanka Bazar. After the blast an electricity transformer also exploded that destroyed all the nearby shops and a hotel. Eye-witnesses also said that Halanaka bazaar has been very congested area, as there have been numerous Truck mechanics shops and various bus-stands and the blast occurred in a truck that was parked before a scrap shop and the intensity of the blast was so severe that it damaged all the nearby shops and number of people also came under debris of their shops. Police and Rangers reaching on the blast place cordoned off the area and assisted the rescue team to shift the victims of the blast to civil hospital. It was worth mentioning that intensity of the blast was so severe that it also damaged the main electricity lines that disconnected electricity supply to the city. Interior Minister Sindh Zulifqar Ali Mirza expressing his heartfelt grief over the loss of innocent lives in the unfortunate incident said that the incident couldn't be termed as terrorist activity adding that police has been investigating from all angles over the incident.
