QUETTA The security forces on late Friday night arrested an alleged commander of defunct Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) after a shootout from the border area of Chaman. We have arrested a BLA commander Haji Murad Khan Marri after a gunfight and recovered explosives, wireless sets and Indian and Afghan currency from his possession, said Commandant Frontier Corps (FC) Pishin Colonel Asad Shahzad while talking to newsmen on Saturday. He said Murad Khan was intercepted when he was entering into Pakistan from Afghanistan in a car, while his two accomplices managed to escape during the exchange of fire. The government, he said, had offered a bounty of three million rupees for his arrest or information leading to his capture. He said the accused was also involved in the attack on Chinese engineers in the industrial town of Hub. But on the other hand, Anjuman-e-Ittehad Marri has rejected the claim of FC Commandant and said Murad was whisked away one year ago by the security forces. Murad Marri was in the custody of security forces during last year, said a spokesman of the organisation representing the Marri tribe, adding that his arrest was shown last night with fake allegations. He further claimed that thousands of Baloch people were in the security forces custody.
