LAHORE-PML(N) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that the plunderers of national wealth must be brought to justice. He said that there was no threat to democracy at the moment. Nawaz was talking to reporters after inaugural ceremony of Bagh-e-Jinnah cricket pavilion here on Friday. He said that there would be no threat to democracy if the present government adhered to the principle of supremacy of law and Constitution. He urged the government to concentrate on real issues of masses. He said establishment of peace was vital to convince investors to invest in the country. He was of the view that progress without industry and production was not possible. He stressed the need for joint efforts to steer country out of present crisis. He said a good number of people were involved in looting and plundering of countrys resources, and these people alongwith those who had got their loans waived off should be held accountable. He reiterated his party stance that the Ministers and other office-holders who had benefitted from the NRO should resign their offices and face the courts. He said land mafia should also be punished, as there were people in the country who could not afford even one marla land on the basis of their known resources, but mafia people had amassed several acres of land by unfair means. Answering a question, he said that there should be an assessment of why the people of Balochistan had been deprived of their rights. He said that his party would try its level best to develop consensus on Balochistan package. He said that in order to ensure implementation on Balochistan package, the government would have to bring the culprits behind the murder of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti to light and to account for their misdeeds. Nawaz believed that Balochistan package would not be of any use if justice is not dispensed for the blood of their leaders and the missing persons were not found out. He said that though Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was trying his best to develop consensus on every issue, but the reservations of Balochistan people on this package should be removed. Replying to a question, he said, there was dire need to have an assessment of the way the debates were being conducted on various news channels.
