President refuses to accept Lashkari's resignation

QUETTA - President Asif Ali Zardari has not accepted the resignation of PPP Balochistan President Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, sources said. It may be mentioned here that PPP Balochistan had been plunged into crisis because of resignation of Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani both from party office and Senate. A large number of PPP office-bearers of provincial and district level in Balochistan had also tendered resignation from their offices to express solidarity with Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani. According to sources, President Asif Ali Zardari has asked Lashkari Raisani to withdraw his resignation and resume his responsibilities after assuring him of removing his reservations. Federal Ministers Rehman Malik, Israrullah Zehri and Senator Muhammad Ali Rind also met with Mr Raisani and asked him to reconsider his decision. Sources said that Lashakari Raisani has not withdrawn his decision so far. Meanwhile, a powerful blast damaged the PTCL line in Khuzdar district on Tuesday, police said. According to police, unidentified persons had planted explosive device with the telephone line near new bus stand that went off with a huge explosion and badly damaged the cabinet. However, no loss of life was reported in the blast. Police said that a large number of telephones had become out of order because of damage to the telephone line.
