KARACHI - Seven people including an activist of Karachi Rabita Council (KRC) and two members of banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP)were gunned down in different incidents of target killing in the provincial metropolis here on Thursday. Two people were shot dead in Gulshan-e-Sarjani in the jurisdiction of Sarjani Police Station. Police found the bodies from Block-E, Gulshan-e-Sarjani, Gaddap Town, where unidentified culprits threw the bodies and fled away. After getting information, police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the hospital. SHO Musadiq Rafique said both victims, appeared to be Afghani, had multiple bullets wounds. Bodies were shifted to morgue for identification and autopsy. No case was registered till filing of the report. In another incident of target killing, an activist of Karachi Rabita Council was shot dead after kidnapping at Mahmood Shah Road in the limits of Sarjani Police Station. The incident took place at Mahmood Shah Road near Rehmania Mosque where unidentified armed men riding on three motorcycles brought the victim and shot him multiple times and managed to escape. The victim later identified as Zubair alias Bobby was a resident of Moosa Lane Lyari. Investigation Officer Mumtaz Shah said victim was kidnapped from Moosa Lane in the wee hours of Thursday. When Zubair was on his way, unidentified armed men kidnapped him and later murdered him at Nippier area. Victim was an active worker of KRC and used to run fishery business. Tension gripped the areas in Lyari after the tragic incident. KRC activists protested against the target killing and chanted slogans against Lyari gangsters and demanded of the govt to arrest the culprits involved in the crime. Police have registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of victims brother. Separately, police found the body of a youth from a Nullah in the limits of Azizabad Police Station. The identity of victim is yet to be ascertained. Police found the body from Nullah situated at Block-3, FB area and shifted the same to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police officials said victim had several torture marks. The cause of death is not yet clear. Gunmen shot dead two real brothers affiliated with a banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) in another incident of target killing at Manzoor Colony in the limits of Baloch Colony Police Station. The incident took place at furniture market situated at Manzoor Colony Gujjar Chowk, where both the brothers namely Kamran and Khalid were sitting at their furniture showroom, when unidentified armed men riding on a motorcycle appeared and sprayed bullets on them. The injured were rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors pronounced them dead. Later, the bodies were handed over to the family after autopsy. Police officials said victims, resident of Gujjar Chowk, Rehmat Ali Road, used to run furniture busines. Maulana Taj Muhammad Hanfi, spokesman of Ahle-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) said victims were the active members of his organisation. He demanded of the government to arrest the culprits involved in killing of the SSP workers. Baloch Colony and surrounding areas were tense and commercial and non-commercial activities were suspended soon after the incident. In another incident of target killing a youth riding a motorbike was shot dead in Clifton area. Police said deceased, identified as Ali Irani, 32, a resident of Model Colony, was riding his motorbike when armed men chased him and shot him dead a hospital.
