KARACHI - Additional District and Sessions Judge Irfan Hussain Siddiqui Saturday once again issued non-bailable warrants of the accused involved in attempt to murder case of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. It is the third time that the sessions court issued arrest warrants for the culprits including former head of accountability bureau Saifur Rehman, his brother Mujeebur Rehman, former IG Sindh Rana Maqbool, police official Najaf Mirza and former DIG Farooq Ameen Qureshi for their alleged involvement in the attempt to murder case of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. According to the report submitted in the court Saifur Rehman, his brother Mujeeb and Farooq were abroad so they could not appear before the court while Sindh government had contacted the Punjab police for the arrest of former IG Sindh Rana Maqbool Ahmed. Counsel for Zardari contended that for the arrest of the nominated accused, government should take help of Interpol and also take serious action against the police for showing negligence in arresting the culprits. Police had allegedly relocated Asif Ali Zardari to the CIA centre 10 years ago when he (Zardari) was in jail where he was brutally tortured in course of investigation. Zardari's lawyer Abu Bakar Zardari had filed a case in April 2005 that was later dismissed by the investigating officer on account of C-class case. Karachi Sessions Court reopened that case last month on the directions of Sindh High Court and issued arrest warrants for five convicts involved in the torture case. The court adjourned the hearing by July 12.
