Japanese Consulate vehicle attacked

KARACHI - Some armed bandits attacked Japanese Consulate vehicle and injured two local employees of the consulate in the limits of Artillery Maidan Police Station on Thursday. City police Chief Fayyaz Laghri, when contacted, said that the armed bandits intercepted the car bearing registration number CC3314 when it was being parked outside a shop. The dacoits opened fire when the guard in the car resisted them and as a result the guard and driver sustained bullet wounds while the admin officer of the consulate escaped the attack. The wounded were shifted to JPMC where Dr Simi Jamali said that both injured including Gul Muhammad and Ghulam Haider sustained bullet wounds in their abdomen and shoulders. Police sources informed that the bandits managed to escape with the looted amount of 2,400 US dollars and 27 thousand rupees. Police have yet to register the case while the police chief, Laghari, said that it was the case of robbery.
