More Swat areas cleared

SWAT/MALAKAND - Amidst continuing search operations in the scattered parts of Swat and Malakand division, security forces claimed to have arrested 11 important militants in Palai area of Malakand agency while seven others handed over themselves to security forces in Barshor and Damghar area of Tehsil Matta and Kabal on Monday. Sources said that the arrested persons have been shifted to unknown location for further investigation. Security forces also extended curfew relaxation hour in Mingawara, Kanjo, Kabal and its surrounding areas from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm. The decision was made due to the return of peace and normalcy in the area. Meanwhile, the price of edible items increased from six to ten rupees per kg while several utility stores have been closed and the dwellers of the area have demanded to increase the number of utility stores in the area as shortages of edible commodities has directly led to price hikes in the area. Moreover the people of the area also demanded that women police be deployed in Matta as due to traditional norms the women are not able to reveal their faces in front of the security forces.
