Pakistan angry over attack on Saudi prince

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Minister for Interior, A. Rehman Malik arrived in Jeddah from London early Saturday morning. On arrival, the Minister was accorded unprecedented protocol and reception and he was received at the Royal Pavilion by Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Saudi Deputy Minister for Interior, members of the Royal Protocol and high ranking officials of the ministry of interior, says a message received here on Saturday. The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Umar Khan Alsherzai was also present to greet the Minister. During his meeting with Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, the Minister expressed concern, anguish and sympathies from the President, PM and the people of Pakistan on assassination attempt on the Deputy Minister of Interior, in which the Prince miraculously survived. The Minister assured Prince Muhammad Bin Naif that the government of Pakistan condemns such cowardly act of terrorism and will extend full cooperation to the Royal family and to the Saudi people against such terror attacks. Prince Muhammad Bin Naif thanked the Pakistani leadership and the Minister for the kind gesture, sympathies and prayers. Rehman Malik during his stay in the Kingdom would also call on Khademil Al Harmain Alsharifain, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. He will also call on other members of the Royal Family as well as other high government officials. The Minister will also perform Umrah.
