Multan- State Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali said the government has done nothing wrong by asking the army to play its role to end the on-going political crisis.
“Although inviting the army is not a Parliament’s decision, but if military cooperates, what’s wrong in it?” he clarified today.
“We made all-out efforts to address concerns of protesting parties but to control the situation. This is government’s constitutional duty to devise a policy with the military,” Ali said.
Yesterday, the government faced a blowback of asking the military to facilitate talks with PTI and PAT.
However, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan explained that the government gave role of only a facilitator to the army and not a guarantor, as claimed by Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri. The role of facilitation is within the constitutional ambit, he enlightened.
