SWAT - At least six persons, including a brother of an ex-MPA, were killed in bomb blasts on Sunday in Matta and Mingora areas of Swat region. Several shops were also damaged in the incidents. A remote-controlled bomb exploded in Venai area of Matta Tehsil, killing two personnel of the security forces, who were later identified as Shakil Imran and Gulam Abbas. Meanwhile, unknown militants also attacked the house of former MPA Qamos Khan in Khwazakhela area with rockets. A brother of the former MPA was killed as result of the incident while Qemos Khan sustained serious injuries. Two person were killed by militants while sleeping in Matta area in another incident. Some unknown armed militants entered a house and killed two person namely Pervez son of Darazay and Qasim son of Aslam at midnight. A man was also shot dead by the militants in Taran area of Tehsil Kabal. Moreover, at least 54 shops were badly damaged as a result of powerful bomb blast in Tahir Abad area of Mingora. After the explosion, police reached the place of the incident and claimed to have recovered suicide jackets, rockets, hand grenades and mortars. Officials of Bomb Disposal Squad and police cordoned off the area and started investigation. Talking to theNation, DSP City said that the place of explosion was militants' arms Godown located in a market. Meanwhile, police also recovered 20 Kg bomb, planted near the house of a female police constable. The bomb disposal squad successful defused the bomb.
