Pasha replaces Taj as ISI chief

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Army Monday saw a major administrative reshuffle after promotion of seven Major Generals of Pakistan Army to the rank of Lieutenant General, says a press release issued here on Monday. Those who have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General are: Major General Tahir Mahmood, Infantry; Major General Shahid Iqbal, Infantry; Major General Tanvir Tahir, EME; Major General Zahid Hussain, Artillery; Major General Ahmad Shuja Pasha, Infantry; Major General Mohammad Mustafa Khan, Armoured Corps and Major General Ayyaz Saleem Rana, Armoured Corps. In a later move, Lt Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha has been appointed as new DG ISI, replacing Lt Gen Nadeem Taj, who has been posted as Corps Commander Gujranwala. Similarly, Lt Gen Mustafa Khan has been appointed as Chief of General Staff while Lt Gen Mohsin Kamal has been appointed as Military Secretary, GHQ. Lt Gen Raza Khan has been appointed as DG Joint Staff Headquarters and LT Gen Shahid Iqbal appointed and posted as Corps Commander Karachi. Lt Gen Javed Zia has been appointed and posted as Quarter Master General while Lt Gen Tahir Mehmood has been appointed and posted as 10 Corps Commander. Similarly Lt Gen Ayyaz Saleem Rana has been appointed as Chairman Heavy Mechanical Complex, Taxila. Lt Gen Zaki has been appointed and posted as Inspector General Arms and Lt Gen Yousaf appointed and posted as 31 Corps Commander.
