PM leaves for Libya

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Sunday left for his three-day official visit to Libya on the special invitation of Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi to attend the 40th Anniversary of Libyan revolution to be marked on September 01. The Prime Minister, accompanied by PPP General Secretary Jhangir Badr, Foreign Secretary Suleman Bashir, was seen off by federal ministers and head of the armed forces. The Prime Minister after a brief stopover in the UAE would leave for Tripoli. During the official visit, he would hold meeting with Moammar Gadhafi and other government dignitaries. During the meeting, they would exchange views on bilateral relations, matter of regional and international affairs. The Premier would also hold meeting with Libyan counterpart to discuss issue with regard to expansion of cooperation in defense, trade, agriculture and other fields, sources said. The Premier would return home on September 2.
