SRINAGAR (AFP) - An Indian air force helicopter crashed Friday into a river in southern district of Kashmir, police said. An Indian air force Mi-17 helicopter has crashed in Doda district, a police spokesman said, adding the fate of people on board was not known. Both army and police rescue teams have reached the spot, he said. The helicopter crashed into the fast-flowing glacier-fed river Chenab. Indias ageing air fleet is plagued by crashes.
