Eight intending Hajis nabbed in drug case

PESHAWAR The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in two separate crackdowns arrested 8 smugglers who were in the garb of pilgrims on board a PIA flight bound for Jeddah and recovered hundreds of heroin-filled capsules swallowed by them. Talking to reporters, Commandant ANF Brig Mohammad Amir Khan said that through some sources he was informed that two smugglers through a PIA flight (PK-2037) heading for Jeddah would smuggle heroin that was packed in form of capsules inside their stomachs. The ANF in the first instant arrested two persons while later after thorough interrogation six other smugglers were also arrested from the Peshawar Airport. All the smugglers were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where 61 capsules were recovered from one smugglers stomach and 62 capsules from anothers while the rest of the smugglers are under operation process, which would take 24 hours to complete. The smugglers were identified as Ishaq, son of Sardar Mohammad, Tanveer-ul-Hasan, son of M Hasan, resident of Shekhopora, M Riaz, son of Ghulam M , Ghulam Mohammad, son of M Sadique, Jan Mohar, son of Raj Mohar resident of Mian Wali, Mohammad Saeed, son of Sadiq, resident of Khoshab, Wajid, son of Wazir Khan, resident of Takhtbai, Shahid, son of Syed Aman, resident of Orakzai Agency. Meanwhile, in another incident, law enforcement agencies arrested four outlaws from Dabgari Garden area on Saturday morning. The arrested persons were planning for subversive activities in the provincial metropolis. Police have also recovered weapons from their possession.
