£148m lottery winner mother gives two kids £3 a week pocket money

A mother who won a £148million lottery jackpot gives her to children aged just £3 a week in pocket money to keep them grounded.
Gillian Bayford said she still wants to be a normal mum and doesn’t want to see her two kids Aimee, nine, and Cameron, seven, to grow up spoilt. She has said she still likes to do regular things with the kids like going to activities like cubs and brownies.
The comments in the Sun on Sunday follow revelations that Mrs Bayford’s ex-husband, Adrian Bayford, splashed out £2milllion on horses and stables for his new 28-year-old fiancée. Mr and Mrs Bayford have said their split was because of the lotto win.
Mrs Bayford was quoted as saying her children’s £3 pocket money is not unconditional. ‘They get £3 each week as long as they keep their rooms clean and tidy and make their beds every morning,’ she said.
She added that she has taught them that if they want things they can save and work for it. She doesn’t want the kids to be spoilt and ‘get things just because I have the money’.
Mrs Bayford added that when she says no, Aimee and Cameron understand what that means.
Despite trying to stay grounded, life has changed for Gillian since the win. She was working night shifts as a healthcare assistant and Adrian ran a second-hand music shop before their lottery win in 2012.
