Masala Family festival enthrals food lovers

Lahore-Pakistan’s biggest and much anticipated family festival, Masala Family Festival 2016 Lahore organized by Pakistan’s premier entertainment network, HUM Network Limited culminated with thunderous applause by the audiences in appreciation of the organisers. The two-day festival provided families with an opportunity to plan a perfect day out, meet their favourite Masala chefs, shop to their hearts content, watch live cooking demonstrations by Masala chefs and purchase autographed copies of their favourite cookbooks. This year, audiences’ favourite Chef Shireen Anwar celebrated her 7th anniversary at HUM Masala.

The audiences were enthralled by the live cooking demonstrations by all the Masala chefs at different times during the two-day festival, as it gave them a chance to interact with their favourite chefs. The highlight of this two-day event was the launch ceremony of HUM Network’s latest book ‘Manpasand Masala’s Desserts’, the fourth book in the culinary series by HUM Network. The latest addition to HUM Network’s cookbook’s series features mouth-watering desserts’ recipes by the top chefs of Pakistan including Chef Shireen Anwar, Zubeida Tariq, Gulzar Hussain, Rida Aftab, Zarnak Sidhwa, Tahir Chaudhry, Zakir Hussain, Shaista Qazi (Chef Shai) and Noreen Aamir.

President HUM Network Sultana Siddiqui said, “The continued success of Masala Family Festival has further strengthened our resolve to take initiatives to bring back the life that this country once had. This festival has proved that Pakistanis still love to have a good time with their families if provided a safe environment and quality entertainment. The other highlight of Masala Family Festival 2016, Lahore, was the kids’ arena, providing entertainment to kids of all ages. The huge and beautifully set-up arena had wide ranging fun options, from jumping castles to floating ship and a pet show to keep them occupied.

Visitors also had a field day shopping as all major FMCG companies were part of the event, selling everything from household appliances, food items, crockery and jewellery. To satiate the appetites of the visitors, the organisers had arranged food and drinks stalls as well. The festival concluded on a high note with performances by Raga Boyzz, Shahida Minni, Malkoo and Rabi Peerzada who performed to audience requests and received appreciation from the happy crowd.
