LAHORE- Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said the government is planning to set up a state-of-the-art institute in Lahore for the treatment of kidney and liver diseases. He was presiding over a high level meeting regarding the project of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute today. He said that modern treatment facilities would be available to the patients in kidney and liver institute and this project would be completed expeditiously. The CM said free treatment facilities will be available to poor patients at the kidney and liver institute. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government was spending billions of rupees on the development of health sector and provision of modern treatment facilities to the patients. He said besides medical facilities, free of cost medicines are also being provided to deserving patients in government hospitals. He said new hospitals equipped with modern health facilities have been set up throughout the province while basic health units are being upgraded for providing quality health services to the people at their doorstep. He said the kidney and liver institute is the need of the hour, adding that a research unit would also be set up at the institute. He said that philanthropists and experts would be included in the board of governors of the institute.
