Premier League Preview - Everton

Team: Everton

Key players:

• Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian forward has struggled to justify his price since his move to Everton from Stamford Bridge. However, there are no doubts over his ability to find the net. Due to limited attacking options, Everton are heavily dependent on Lukaku. The forward is capable of scoring twenty odd goals for Everton as he showed during his loan spell in the 2012/13 campaign. His place in the starting line-up is unchallenged and with Martinez having his confidence in him, Lukaku should start firing for Everton sooner rather than later.

• Ross Barkley
The English international is a prestiged homegrown product of the Everton youth academy. Attracting interest from Premier League giants at a young age only shows how good he is on ball. His attacking mindset sends out a sense of positivity throughout the line-up. Barkley links up well with the striker to create chances and produce important goal scoring opportunities for his club. He is capable of scoring goals himself as well, hence, reducing the burden on Lukaku.

Sunmary:
Everton has consistent performers in their line-up and have brought in notable reinforcements in the face of Gerard Deulofeu and Tom Cleverley. Roberto Martinez has a tough task in hand of not letting his star players leave for rival clubs. Despite the new transfers, the squad is thinly spread and consists of players that are injury-prone. The central midfield led by Gareth Barry and both the wings lack penetration that can trouble the opposition.

Predicted position: 12th
